The Statistics program encourages students to:
- organize, represent, analyze, and interpret data through tables, charts, and graphs
- determine frequencies, relative frequencies, and cumulative frequencies from a data sample
- describe and distinguish sets of data using measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode) and measures of variability (range, percentiles, absolute and standard deviation)
- develop a familiarity with the variables, notation, and formulae associated with statistical measures
- use spreadsheets to enter, organize, and manipulate data, and to calculate statistical measures
- identify and investigate relationships between two variables and develop models of best fit
- develop techniques and measures to find lines and curves of best fit
- interpolate and extrapolate using mathematical models of best fit to predict and estimate data values

PRACTICE MODULE
At any time, a student may leave the lesson mode and move to practice and/or test exercises where questions are randomly generated. While working with practice questions, students are given immediate feedback after each answer they provide. Test questions are checked after the test is finished. The program administers and marks both practice questions and tests that are teacher customizable.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Included in the manual are sixteen Statistics activities designed to provide additional applications and opportunities to practice concepts and skills addressed in the software. Some Statistics activities ask students to organize and analyze given data while others direct students in collecting and analyzing their own data.
